New linear motor
A new Dual Phase Linear Motor (DPLM) delivers 3 times the output of a conventional linear motor ensuring high speed and high accuracy.

Compact and lightweight
A newly designed linear motor and the removal of the Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) unit in favour of the strong Body Image Stabilisation (BIS) in Lumix cameras such as the S5 II, both work to reduce the weight of this macro lens. To achieve a more compact size the 100mm lens features 3 aspherical lenses and a double focus unit. Collectively this has produced a lens perfect for travel, capable of one-handed shooting, and which matches the unified size and weight of the Lumix S lens range.
