The Canon Speedlite EL-5 (Ver.2) is a professional flashgun designed to give photographers precise, repeatable lighting control across a wide range of shooting environments. It suits studio setups, on-location portrait sessions and wedding coverage, where consistent recycle times and reliable wireless communication are essential.
With a guide number of 60 metres at ISO100 (200mm), the Speedlite EL-5 (Ver.2) delivers strong, consistent output suited to larger spaces and greater subject distances. Manual power can be adjusted down to 1/1024th in 1/3-stop increments, giving fine control over exposure, while stroboscopic mode (1-500Hz) opens up creative multi-flash effects within a single exposure.
Built-in radio wireless transmission allows control of up to 15 Speedlites at a range of approximately 50 metres, organised across five groups (A-E) and up to 15 channels. This makes the EL-5 (Ver.2) well suited to multi-light studio setups where consistent, interference-free triggering is essential.
A built-in modelling lamp with five brightness levels lets photographers preview how light will fall across a subject before firing the flash, which is particularly useful when building portrait or studio lighting setups from scratch.
Dust and water-resistant construction, together with an improved internal airflow design, allows the EL-5 (Ver.2) to be used confidently outdoors and during long shooting sessions. The Multi-Function shoe provides a secure, reliable connection with improved communication when mounted on compatible Canon cameras.
Flash head movement covers 120 degrees upward, 7 degrees downward, and 180 degrees left and right, supporting bounce flash in most shooting scenarios. Settings can be adjusted directly via the Speedlite's joystick, through the camera's LCD menu, or remotely using the Camera Connect App.
